Start making a difference today
Imagine how many hens you can free from barren, battery cages by choosing cage-free eggs and convincing others to make the switch, too. Here are some ways you can make a difference for you and for chickens.
- Sign the Choose Cage-Free pledge
Commit to being a compassionate eater. If you buy eggs, choose cage-free. Sign the pledge now.
- At the grocery store, vote with your dollar
Request cage-free eggs at your local grocer. See our shopping guide to understand the labels. If your store does not supply cage-free eggs, give the manager our customer suggestion card (English, PDF, 609 KB).
- When dining out, change the menu
Request cage-free eggs when you dine-out and if they are not on the menu, give the manager our restaurant customer suggestion card (English, PDF, 609 KB).
- At city hall, ask council to adopt a humane food procurement policy
Urge city councillors to stop using eggs from caged hens at municipal facilities and catered council meetings. If you need help, request a community action kit.
- At school
Ask your food service manager to reduce their use of caged eggs and switch to more humane alternatives in the cafeteria and dining facilities on campus. Do a project on factory farming and humane alternatives. If you need help, request a community action kit.
- At work
Get your company to adopt a cage-free egg procurement policy and serve only humane food at corporate functions or in the company cafeteria. If you need help, request a community action kit.
